The focus of the module is direct practical experience of how to design, conduct, and report experimental research. The module will progress from the conceptual understanding that is necessary to develop research proposals, through the practical considerations involved in the design and implementation of research designs, to the skills and knowledge required to summarise, analyse and present research findings.
The intended learning outcomes are that on completion of this module the student should be able to:
1. Design and conduct complex studies of psychological topics that are appropriate for quantitative data analysis, including multi-factorial designs.
2. Gather data using a range of techniques and demonstrating sensitivity to participants/respondents.
3. Apply statistical techniques of analysis to provide an appropriate interpretation of data.
